Daycare

Overview

At Wishing Creek Farm, daycare is about more than just keeping dogs busy while you're away—it's about giving them a day they'll genuinely enjoy.

Nestled on our beautiful farm, your dog will spend the day exploring wide-open spaces, making new friends, and enjoying the fresh country air in a safe, supervised environment. Whether they're racing through the fields, splashing in the creek, sniffing along woodland trails, or simply relaxing in the sunshine with their canine companions, every day is filled with opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and socialization.

We believe that dogs thrive when they're given the freedom to express their natural behaviours in a structured setting. That's why our days are thoughtfully balanced with active play, quiet rest periods, and plenty of positive interaction with our experienced team.

No two dogs are exactly alike. Some are energetic adventurers who never stop moving, while others are content to wander, sniff, and watch the excitement unfold. We take the time to get to know every dog as an individual, matching playgroups based on personality, size, and play style so each guest feels comfortable and confident.

Safety is always our highest priority. All group play is supervised, and each dog's well-being is monitored throughout the day. Guidance or breaks are provided as needed. Our goal is simple: every dog goes home happy, healthy, and ready for a well-earned nap.

Whether your dog visits once a week or becomes one of our regular farm friends, they'll always be welcomed as part of the Wishing Creek Farm family.

A Day at Wishing Creek Farm

Every day is a little different at Wishing Creek Farm, but one thing stays the same—our dogs spend their day enjoying the freedom, fun, and fresh air that farm life has to offer.

Arrival

The day begins with a warm welcome from our team. As dogs arrive, we help them settle in, greet their friends, and ease into the day's activities. New arrivals are introduced thoughtfully to ensure everyone starts their day on the right paw.

Morning Zoomies

Once everyone has arrived, it's time to head outside!

Dogs enjoy supervised play with carefully matched friends, exploring our spacious play areas, sniffing new scents, chasing toys, and stretching their legs in the fresh country air. Every playgroup is monitored to ensure safe, respectful interactions and lots of fun.

Rest & Recharge

Even the busiest dogs need time to recharge. Throughout the day, we encourage rest breaks so everyone has a chance to relax, hydrate, and reset before heading back out for more fun. These quiet periods help prevent overstimulation and keep play safe and positive.

Farm Adventures

Back outside we go!

Depending on the season and weather, dogs may enjoy exploring the property, playing games with friends, splashing through puddles, cooling off in the creek (when conditions allow), or simply wandering and investigating all the interesting sights and smells the farm has to offer.

No two days are exactly the same, which keeps every visit exciting and enriching.

Afternoon Rest

Even the most energetic dogs need time to slow down.

Our second rest period gives everyone another opportunity to relax, hydrate, and recharge before one last play session. Some dogs nap, while others simply enjoy a little quiet time before getting back to the fun.

Last Hurrah

Our final play session is all about ending the day on a positive note.

Whether it's one last game of chase, a leisurely stroll around the property, or spending time with favourite friends, we let each dog enjoy the afternoon at their own pace before it's time to head home.

Home Time

By pick-up time, most of our guests are happily tired, content, and ready for a relaxing evening at home.

After a full day of exercise, enrichment, fresh air, and social interaction, many owners tell us their dogs sleep exceptionally well after a day at the farm—and we consider that one of the best compliments we can receive!

At Wishing Creek Farm, every wagging tail, muddy paw, and happy smile reminds us why we love what we do. We can't wait to welcome your dog to the farm!

Meet & Greet Process

Every great friendship starts with an introduction—and that's exactly how we like to begin at Wishing Creek Farm.

Before joining us for daycare or boarding, every new dog completes a complimentary Meet & Greet. This visit gives us the opportunity to get to know your dog, answer your questions, and ensure that Wishing Creek Farm is the right fit for everyone.

Our goal isn't to judge your dog—it's to understand them. Every dog has a unique personality, play style, and comfort level, and we want to set them up for success from the very beginning.

What to Expect

Step 1: Getting to Know You

We'll start by chatting with you about your dog, including:

  • Their age, breed, and personality.

  • Previous daycare or boarding experience.

  • Play style and energy level.

  • Training and routines.

  • Medical history, allergies, or medications.

  • Any behaviours or concerns you'd like us to know about.

The more we know about your dog, the better we can care for them.

Step 2: Exploring the Farm

Your dog will have the opportunity to explore our property while becoming familiar with new sights, sounds, and smells.

We never rush introductions. Our priority is helping your dog feel safe, comfortable, and confident.

Step 3: Meeting the Pack

When your dog is ready, we'll introduce them to one or two carefully selected daycare dogs whose personalities and play styles are a good match.

During this time we'll observe:

  • Confidence and comfort level.

  • Social skills with other dogs.

  • Play style and communication.

  • Ability to respond to redirection.

  • Overall temperament.

Not every dog jumps into play immediately, and that's perfectly okay. Some dogs need a little extra time to warm up, while others are ready to make friends right away.

Step 4: Next Steps

After the Meet & Greet, we'll discuss how everything went and answer any remaining questions.

If your dog is a good fit, you'll be ready to book daycare or boarding.

If we feel your dog needs a little more time, additional introductions, or would be happier in a different environment, we'll discuss that honestly with you. Our recommendations are always made with your dog's well-being—and the safety of our entire pack—in mind.

Our goal is for every dog to feel excited when they arrive and happy when they head home.
