Boarding

A Home Away From Home

Whether you're heading away for a weekend, a family vacation, or a business trip, you can relax knowing your dog is in caring, experienced hands.

At Wishing Creek Farm, we believe boarding should be about more than simply providing a place to sleep. We strive to create a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment where every guest feels welcomed, loved, and part of the family.

Our boarding dogs spend their days enjoying everything the farm has to offer—running through spacious play areas, exploring nature, making friends, and soaking up the fresh country air. Evenings are quieter, giving everyone time to relax, unwind, and settle in for a restful night's sleep.

Because every dog is different, we take the time to get to know each guest and provide the care, routine, and attention they need to feel comfortable while you're away.

A Typical Stay

Every stay is a little different because every dog is unique, but here's what a typical boarding visit looks like:

Arrival

We'll welcome your dog, help them settle into their surroundings, and ensure they feel comfortable before joining the day's activities.

Farm Adventures

During the day, boarding guests enjoy supervised play, outdoor exploration, enrichment activities, and plenty of fresh air alongside compatible daycare friends.

Rest & Relaxation

We believe rest is just as important as play. Throughout the day, dogs have opportunities to relax, recharge, and enjoy quiet time before heading back out for more fun.

Evening Routine

As the day winds down, everyone settles into a calm evening routine with dinner, potty breaks, and time to relax before bed.

Home Time

When it's time to head home, our goal is for your dog to leave happy, relaxed, and looking forward to their next visit.

Before Your First Stay

Every new boarding guest must complete a Meet & Greet before their first overnight visit.

This allows us to get to know your dog, learn about their personality and routine, and ensure that Wishing Creek Farm is the right fit for them. It also gives your dog an opportunity to become familiar with our property, meet our team, and make positive first impressions before spending the night.

Our Meet & Greet helps set every dog up for a successful boarding experience.

Boarding Requirements

To help provide a safe and enjoyable experience for every guest, boarding dogs must:

  • Successfully complete our Meet & Greet.

  • Be friendly with people and other dogs.

  • Be current on all required vaccinations.

  • Be healthy and free from contagious illness.

  • Be on regular flea and tick prevention.

  • Be reliably potty trained.

  • Be comfortable resting quietly in a crate if needed.

  • Respect gates, doors, and fenced boundaries.

  • Be comfortable spending time away from home.

House Manners

Because our boarding guests spend time both indoors and outdoors, good manners help everyone enjoy their stay.

We expect our boarding dogs to:

  • Ask to go outside or reliably hold their bladder between potty breaks.

  • Settle calmly during quiet times.

  • Walk respectfully through gates and doorways.

  • Allow staff to safely leash, guide, and handle them.

  • Respect the personal space of both people and other dogs.

Dogs don't need to be perfect—we understand every guest is adjusting to a new environment—but these basic skills help ensure a safe and relaxing experience for everyone.

Safety Comes First

Our team carefully supervises every guest throughout their stay. While we understand that dogs sometimes need a little time to adjust, safety will always be our highest priority.

If a dog consistently displays behaviours that create an unsafe or stressful environment for themselves, our staff, or other guests, we may determine that group boarding is not the best fit.

Every decision we make is guided by the well-being, comfort, and happiness of every dog in our care.

What to Bring

To help your dog feel at home, please bring:

  • Your dog's food for the entire stay (pre-portioned or clearly labelled).

  • Any medications with written instructions.

  • Emergency contact information.

  • Any approved comfort items you'd like them to have during their stay.

We'll take care of the love, attention, exercise, and plenty of farm adventures!

Your Dog's Vacation Starts Here

At Wishing Creek Farm, we know your dog is a member of your family. That's why we treat every guest as if they were one of our own—with patience, kindness, plenty of playtime, and lots of love.

We can't wait to welcome your dog for their next farm getaway.
